Introduction
RULES & REGULATIONS OF PECERA KOREA
1. Name of the Organization
The name of this organization is "PECERA KOREA."
2. Objectives
The primary objectives for which PECERA Korea was established are as follows.
2.1. To promote and disseminate research in early childhood education within the Pacific areas.
2.2. To facilitate partnerships among Korean members and exchange information with the Pacific Early Childhood Research Association.
3. Activities
These aims will be achieved through the following activities.
3.1. Communicating with the Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association
3.2. Providing PECERA Streering Commitee
3.3. Holding the PECERA International Conference in Korea and organizing the preparation committee
4. Members
4.1. The members of PECERA Korea consist of researchers and practitioners in early childhood education who agree with the objectives and activities of PECERA Korea.
5. Rights and Responsibilities of the Members
5.1. The members of PECERA Korea are responsible for membership fees.
5.2. The members of PECERA Korea have the rights to receive information and participate in the activities of the organization.
6. Executive Board
6.1. The Executive Board consists of 1 president, 2 vice-presidents, 1 editor-in-chief for the International Journal, 1 Secretary, several members of the Board of Directors, and 1 auditor.
6.2. Election of the Executive Board
The president and the auditor are to be elected at the general meeting. The vice-presidents, secretary, and members of the Board of Directors are to be appointed by the president.
6.3. Terms of the Executive Board
1) The term of the executive board is 2 years and the same position cannot be held for another term.
2) The term of the executive board begins on January 1st and ends on December 31st of the following year.
6.4. Duties of the Executive Board
1) The president represents the organization and manages all affairs, and serves as the chairman of the general meeting and board of directors.
2) The vice-presidents assist the president and act on behalf of the president in his/her absence.
3) The secretary assists the president and executes activities of the organization. Assistants may be appointed to help handle organization works.
4) The auditor shall audit the organization's execution of financial affairs.
5) The president shall send out the steering committee to PECERA annual conferences.
6) Steering Committee members participating in the PECERA annual meeting will be supported with airfare and lodging (up to $300 for 3 people in Asia) from the organization's funds.
7. Meetings
7.1. Executive meetings shall be held as necessary to discuss and decide on the affairs of the organization.
7.2. Regular meetings shall be held once a year, and special meetings shall be held when the president thinks necessary or at the request of the members.
8. Finances
8.1. The finances of the organization are covered by membership fees, grants, and special contributions.
8.2. The dues of membership fees are determined at the regular meeting.
9. Appendices
9.1. The amendments are effective as of April 20th, 2007.
9.2. The amendments are effective as of January 12th, 2017.
9.3. The amendments are effective as of March 4th, 2024.
